Ring in the New Year with Five Marketing Tips

New Year's holiday marketing can be difficult with budgets dwindling and other projects to wrap up. Yes, you should continue with your marketing campaigns, but the New Year's holiday also presents opportunities for you to reshape how you look or do business, here are five marketing tips you can employ to boost business for the whole year to come.

Update your Image

You don’t have to roll out the new year exactly at midnight the first day of the year. Many of us are still shuffling around our own lives, catching up still from the year before! If you've been thinking about updating your image or re-branding your company, product or service entirely, the first month of 2021 is the time to do it. Print a new corporate identity package with your updated logo, adding or changing a tagline, sell sheets, new direct mailings to send to clients and potential customers or a total kit package. Set the stage with a preview campaign launching your new image and resolution.

Refresh your Website

Even if you're not undergoing a re-brand, you should take a long hard look at your website to see if it really fulfills your needs or if anything has changed that you haven’t added to it yet. Typically, companies re build their websites every 3-5 years but that doesn’t mean a refresh can’t help you. Maybe you have some changes to your product lines or maybe you are due for a full make over and don’t have a budget. That’s okay! Change the look and feel of your website to offer simple solutions to your customers. Add interactive features, e-mail collection processes, and analytics tracking so you can better serve your customers and target your advertising campaigns. You can also learn about how you can use postcard direct-mail postcard marketing campaigns to drive business to your website, and how to leverage landing pages to persuade customers to click through to a lead collection form or a sale.

Consider a Bold Move

Try something outside of the box in the New Year. Sit down with your creative team and discuss things you have seen in your everyday life that have been memorable and then apply them to your business model. It can be as simple as planning a creative poster or banner where the placement will stand out and increase brand awareness. Maybe try a bold image, exciting colors, or even a funny joke because you never know what someone may remember and think of your brand for!

Network & Connect

During 2020 a huge shift of the workplace happened and we now know you should be networking to grow your business for 2021. Networking by joining online groups or even directories that relate not only to your business but also to your own personal hobbies. There is no reason that you can’t bring work to play, or vice versa! If you network in ways you may not have traditionally done, you exponentially increase your chance of success!

Have a Promotion or Sale

The most important purpose that a promotion serves is that it sets a business apart from it's competitors. No business will ever need to run any promotions if there wasn't any competition. You have to stay ahead of your competitors in order for customers to keep doing business with you. With so many working remote or reduced hours, holding a promotion can also show you care and would like to offer a lower price. Take it one step further with an at-home mail offer that they are sure to receive!
